Andersen's Fairy Tales ( I )
Have you ever read the following tales, “The Steadfast Tin Soldier” and “The Little Mermaid”? Alas, how tragic they were.
Our instructor has been assigning homework which is to read the version English of Andersen’s Fairy Tales since Feb. I dare not said I know Andersen well. However, he was a man of imagination, but poor. (In my opinion, poor should be ambiguity here for Andersen’s misfortune and poverty. Ah~! It depends on the reader’s explanation.
It is a bit funny for university students to read fairy tales. Anyway, don’t be serious. Being a child not any more, I got different views. A thought came across my mind suddenly when I read “The Little Mermaid”
I bet you had heard the story about ten years ago. (The reason why I said about ten years ago is to show my browsers were about 20. Well, I know it may not be real. I just think it could make browsers feel young and get close to their childhood. And the most important thing is to be my age! Ha~haaaa~~!) Okay…, we know it’s a tragedy and perhaps you read it with tears in your eyes. Anyway, did you get the point? Did Andersen tell his readers that the mermaid committed suicide for love? Does it be included in children’s mental vocabularies?
Why do adults know the nouns such as, adultery, elopement, and so on? What are the distinct speeches from children and adults?
It sounds kind of funny for the mature to read legend fables. Anyway, notice the words you choose to communicate with children. Don’t be rude and behave yourself.
